An informational event related to the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) was held at the Institute of Botany PLE of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, acting director Professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva emphasized the importance of the international event to be held in Baku, noting that hosting such events is a clear indicator of Azerbaijan’s growing international reputation.
The World Urban Forum has been organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) since 2001. Rapid urbanization, sustainable urban development, preservation of ecological balance, and the creation of resilient infrastructure against climate risks are now among global priorities. The Forum provides an opportunity for thousands of participants dealing with all aspects of urbanization to share their knowledge and experience on how cities are built, planned, and managed.
It should be noted that the World Urban Forum is one of the largest international platforms dedicated to sustainable urban development. The 13th session, to be held in Baku under the theme “Housing for All: Safe and Resilient Cities and Human Settlements,” will bring together representatives of government, academia, business, and civil society to foster global dialogue on the future of cities.
