Staff members of the Herbarium Fund Organization and Digitization Laboratory of the Institute of Botany PLE conducted an expedition in the Guba region.
The main goal of the expedition was to study early spring flora using floristic, systematic, geographical, and ecological methods, as well as to enrich the herbarium collection.
A total of 178 plant samples were collected from various locations including Gachrash, Khinalig, Gamgam, Afurja, Sabatlar villages in Guba, as well as Galaalti, Mashrif, Jalgan, Gozagaji, Amirxanli villages in Shabran, and areas near the Taxtakorpu reservoir.
The research mainly covered forest, mid-mountain, and subalpine vegetation zones. Comparative morphological analyses were conducted, and the samples were identified. Plant species belonging to various families and genera were recorded at elevations up to 2000 meters above sea level.
