In connection with the declaration of 2026 as the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a conference entitled “Landscape Architecture Style in Urban Green Areas” was jointly organized by the Institute of Botany PLE of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and “Sea Breeze Resort.”

The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and continued with the screening of a video presentation about the history of the establishment of “Sea Breeze Resort.”

During the opening ceremony, speeches emphasizing the importance of the conference were delivered by Professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, Deputy Director and Acting Director of the Institute of Botany PLE and Chairperson of the Azerbaijan Botanists Society Public Union; Fuad Isazadeh, Head of the Legal Department of “Sea Breeze Resort”; Vusal Gozalov, Head of the Landscaping Department of “Sea Breeze Resort”; Corresponding Member of ANAS Eminaga Sadigov, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education; and Associate Professor Reyhan Aghayeva, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University.

Within the framework of the conference, current issues such as the impact of biodiversity on urban ecosystems, sustainable urban greenery in the context of climate change, innovative technologies in landscape architecture, the role of civil society in the development of urban green spaces, monitoring of green areas, and reconstruction projects of public spaces were discussed.

During the panel discussions, scientists and specialists presented reports on topics including the prospects of plants used in the greening of cities and settlements, the ecological importance of urban gardens, ecological design approaches in the liberated territories of Karabakh, the application of artificial intelligence technologies in biodiversity conservation, and the study of the Absheron flora under changing climate conditions.

As part of the event, a special exhibition prepared by young specialists, reflecting the future directions of landscape architecture, was also displayed.

At the end of the conference, an excursion around the territory of “Sea Breeze Resort” was organized for the participants.
