An event dedicated to June 15 – National Salvation Day was organized at the Institute of Botany PLE of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

First, the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our homeland was honored with a minute of silence, and afterwards, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played. 

Opening the event with an introductory speech, Acting Director of the Institute, Professor Sayyara İbadullayeva spoke about the exceptional role of June 15 – National Salvation Day in the history of Azerbaijan. Professor noted that in 1993, in the complex socio-political situation that had arisen in the country, the return of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to power played a decisive role in the protection of Azerbaijani statehood, the restoration of stability, and the development of the country.

As a result of the National Leader’s far-sighted policy, social and political stability was ensured in the country, and Azerbaijan’s international reputation significantly increased. She emphasized that the development strategy set by the Great Leader is successfully continued today by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. The full restoration of our country’s territorial integrity and the large-scale reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories are clear examples of this process.

At the event, institute staff — Doctors of Philosophy in Biology, Associate Professors Aygun Mammadova, Sadiq Garayev, Hilal İmanli and Shabnam İsayeva — spoke about the role of National Salvation Day in strengthening Azerbaijani statehood.
