Shabnam Isayeva Successfully Completes International Training Program in China

Shabnam Isayeva, a researcher at the Institute of Botany PLE of the Ministry of Science and Education, a PhD in Biology, has successfully completed the "International Training Program on the Development and Management of Botanical Gardens," organized in Shanghai, People's Republic of China.
 
Shabnam Isayeva successfully represented our country in the two-week program, which brought together specialists from various countries working in the fields of botany, ecology, and biodiversity conservation. Within the framework of the program, theoretical and practical sessions were organized for participants on topics such as the management of botanical gardens, the formation of plant collections, the digitization of herbarium collections, the organization of seed banks, the ex situ conservation of rare plants, ethnobotany, and environmental education. Training participants also became closely acquainted with the activities of the Shanghai Botanical Garden, the Shanghai Natural History Museum and other scientific research institutions.
 
During the training, Shabnam Isayeva gave a presentation titled "International Ethnobotanical Exchange," in which she provided information about Azerbaijan's rich plant diversity, medicinal and economically important plants, their traditional uses, and the role of ethnobotany in biodiversity conservation. She also gave a presentation on the scientific activities of the Institute of Botany PLE, its Herbarium fund and the work carried out in the field of international scientific cooperation.
 
At the final stage of the program, Shabnam Isayeva, together with representatives from Georgia, Malaysia, Pakistan and Thailand, presented modern approaches on the topic of "Living Collections, Herbaria, and Biodiversity Conservation."
 
At the end of the program, all participants were presented with international certificates.
