New opportunities are emerging for the development of scientific cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan in the fields of botany, biodiversity conservation, and the study of forest ecosystems. Mutual scientific meetings and exchange of experience serve to further strengthen ties between the relevant research institutions of the two countries.

 

This was reported by Professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, acting director of the Institute of Botany PLE under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

The professor noted that an international conference titled "Walnut-fruit forests of Kyrgyzstan: world natural heritage, a global treasure for biodiversity, climate, and sustainable development," along with the annual meeting of the Forest Invasive Species Network for Europe and Central Asia, was held in the city of Manas, Kyrgyzstan. Employees of the Institute of Botany PLE also took part in these events. Within the framework of the international events, a number of scientific meetings were held with scientists and experts from various countries.

 

Sayyara Ibadullayeva noted that meetings held with Kyrgyzstan's relevant research institutions, including scientists and experts working in the field of botany, were significant in terms of expanding scientific ties between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. As part of the continuation of mutual scientific relations, cooperation is envisaged to develop between the Institute of Botany PLE and the relevant botanical and research institutes of Kyrgyzstan, including conducting joint research, expanding the exchange of scientific information and experience, organizing mutual visits of scientists and experts, and preparing joint scientific projects.

 

"The expansion of scientific ties between the botanical institutes of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan can make an important contribution to the study and conservation of the rich plant biodiversity of the two countries, as well as to enhancing scientific potential in the sustainable management of forest ecosystems," Sayyara Ibadullayeva emphasized. There are broad prospects for cooperation between the scientific institutions of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan working in the fields of botany, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable management of forest ecosystems, for carrying out joint research, exchanging experience, and implementing scientific projects.
