The next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Botany PLE of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been held. Opening the meeting with an introductory speech, Professor Sayyara Ibadullayeva, acting director of the institute, informed the council members about the issues on the agenda.

 

At the meeting, discussions were held on appointing scientific supervisors to doctoral students admitted to doctoral studies for the 2026–2027 academic year and determining their dissertation topics. In addition, the reassignment of scientific supervisors for some doctoral students and the determination of their dissertation topics were reviewed. The issue of removing from the doctoral and dissertant ranks those doctoral students and dissertants who have not defended their dissertations and whose study period ended before 2016 was also brought up for discussion.

 

The meeting also reviewed the performance indicators of staff working in the Institute's laboratories in journals indexed in international scientific databases, namely Scopus and Web of Science. The importance of improving the quality of scientific publications and of presenting the Institute staff's research results more widely in international scientific databases was emphasized.

 

Discussions were held on the issues on the agenda, and appropriate decisions were made.
