Conducted the first ecosystem research in Azerbaijan with the participation of German students

     11 professor and students of faculty of the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Diversity of Frankfurt University of Germany has been in business trip to Azerbaijan. The visit took place within the memorandum signed between the Botany Institute of National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan and Frankfurt University.

     The aim of the visit was to explore the impact of climate factors on natural complexes by monitoring the various ecosystems of Gobustan, Agsu, Aghdash, Ganja, Tovuz, Gabala, Aghstafa, Guba and Gusar regions using modern methods together with young specialists of the Botany Institute.

     Throughout the expedition, students from both countries studied different species of plants in these regions (mountainous and low mountain ranges in dry steppes, flat and foothills, high mountainous and subalpine meadows).

     The results of the monitoring presented at the International Symposium on "Development Methods for Preserving Biodiversity in Azerbaijan" organized at Botany Institute. Local and foreign experts have made mutual scientific debates and clarified controversial issues.
