Employees of ANAS were on an expedition on the island Khira Zira

      According to the decision of the Presidium of ANAS, the staff of ANAS was on an expedition on the island of Khira Zira.

      The expedition is dedicated to studying the island's relief, geological structure, volcanism, soil cover, landscape, climatic characteristics, flora and fauna, and ecotourism potential.

     The expedition collected valuable material about the nature of the island (soil cover, vegetation areas, fauna diversity, climatic characteristics, volcanic breccias). Nearly 15,000 high-quality photographs of the island have been shot through the special multifunctional drones produced by ANAS High Technologies Park. Most of these studies have been collected for the first time. The materials collected on the nature of the Khira Zira island and the results obtained are intended to be printed in the form of monographs.

     Famous specialists of ANAS passed master classes for young scientists and masters within the expedition and taught them the features of field research.

     Experts of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, as well as academics and young specialists of the Institute of Zoology, Geography, Soil Science and Agro-chemistry, Geology and Geophysics, Oil and Gas of ANAS, participated in the scientific expedition devoted to the complex investigation of Baku and Absheron Archipelago Islands.
