The report on the activities of the Central Botanical Garden of ANAS for 2021

A joint meeting of the Scientific Councils of the Department of Biological and Medical Sciences of ANAS and the Central Botanical Garden was held.

The meeting discussed the results of the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Central Botanical Garden in 2021.

The event was opened by the Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Irada Huseynova, who gave the floor to the Executive Director of the Central Botanical Garden, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Hasan Babayev for the presentation of the annual report.

In his speech, Hasan Babayev spoke in detail about the Decrees and Orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, decisions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as about the work done in connection with the implementation of state programs. According to him, during the reporting period, 11 works covering 21 topics were carried out in this scientific institution in 21 stages. In the reporting year, the Garden staff published 38 scientific works, including 2 monographs, 1 book, 22 articles and 13 abstracts in the domestic and foreign scientific press, 7 articles were published in journals with an impact factor.

It was also noted that the Garden staff participated in numerous national and foreign online events.

G. Babayev brought to attention that a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Batumi Botanical Garden, the Mangyshlak Experimental Botanical Garden of Kazakhstan and the Central Botanical Garden of ANAS within the framework of 5-year cooperation. To enrich the collections of living plants of the Central Botanical Garden, an exchange of seeds was made with botanical gardens in a number of countries of the world. On the territory of the Shamakhi stronghold, operating at the Central Botanical Garden, a collection of useful plants has been created, where various medicinal, essential oil and other plants are stored.
