By the Order of President Ilham Aliyev “On awarding the Presidential Awards for Youth 2022” dated February 1, 2022, individuals distinguished in the fields of science and education, culture, youth policy and youth work, public and social activities, innovation and entrepreneurship were awarded Presidential Awards.

Lala Akhundova, junior researcher of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MBBI) of ANAS, was awarded this prize in the field of science. It should be noted that Lala Akhundova, one of the young specialists of MBBI, graduated from Baku State University in 2014 specialty “Genetics”. In 2015, she was admitted to the master's program in “Medical Biology” at the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands, and in 2018 to the doctoral program of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of ANAS. She participates as a executor in the grant project "Study of the role of cancer stem cells in pancreatic cancer and development of new treatment methods" submitted to the 5th grant competition of young scientists and researchers announced by the Foundation for Scientific Development under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2020. In 2021, on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, she was awarded first place in a competition among young scientists and specialists under the age of 30.
