General Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS Alovsat Guliyev met with Vladimir Georgiyev, Head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Representation in Azerbaijan. During the meeting, Alovsat Guliyev spoke about the cooperation with the IOM in the project “Integrated development of agriculture in IDP settlements in Azerbaijan through the restoration of karezs.”

He noted that he has been working as a consultant scientist for more than 10 years in the research, mapping and restoration of karezs in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. At present, the investigation of karezsin the liberated territories of Azerbaijan is one of the key issues. As a result, there is a need for monitoring and necessary work. A. Guliyev stressed the importance of the support of the IOM and other organizations for this purpose.
