Senior researcher of the Department of Experimental Botany of the Institute of Botany of ANAS, Ph.D. Gulnar Sultanova’s article “Physical and Chemical Properties of Erythrocyte Membranes in Interaction with Polyene Antibiotics in the Field of Ultrasonic Waves” was published in the journal Biophysics of Springer Publishing.
The article studies the changes in the physicochemical properties of erythrocytes under the combined action of ultrasound waves and macrolactone compounds. The article shows that a kinetic method has been developed to study the physicochemical properties of blood cells in the physiotherapeutic mode of ultrasound waves. This method confirms that the process of cavitation occurs during the interaction of ultrasound with biological systems. During these processes, the effect of Amphotericin B and levorin derivatives on the physicochemical properties of erythrocytes was demonstrated.
The mechanical resistance changes under the influence of polyenes on erythrocytes, it is assumed that the protein-lipid surface of erythrocyte membranes changes due to the formation of ion channels. It can be said that new biologically effective drugs can be found with the help of this method. This, in turn, leads to the emergence of new modified drugs in medicine and the economy.
